Texting is an integral part of our everyday lives. It’s used for a variety of reasons, from making plans to sending funny pictures of cats.
One guy might text you every day, which can be a great thing or not so much.
Why does he do it?
Here are 14 interesting reasons why a guy texts you every day:
1) He’s interested in you and wants to stay in touch
When a guy is interested in you, they’ll want to stay in touch. In fact, they’d want to send you text messages every day.
Let me tell you, it’s his way to keep him on your mind and stay top-of-mind, and also gauge your interest level in him.
You could be greeted first thing in the morning with a sweet and funny message, which will put a smile on your face and make you look forward to the rest of the day.
He could also send inspirational quotes in the afternoon to keep you motivated for the rest of your day.
Alternatively, he might text you in the evening to check in and see how your day went, or simply to say good night.
This is a clear sign that he’s genuinely interested in you and wants to know more about you.
If a guy is always texting you round the clock with this much interest, chances are he’s into you.
2) He’s bored and doesn’t have anything else to do
You know that boring feeling when you have nothing else to do and your brain’s looking for something to fill the void? That could be the reason why a guy tests you every day.
It’s inevitable to feel bored on occasion. Everyone experiences it.
The guy who texts you every day is no exception when it comes to boredom. He’s finding relief by doing something else that isn’t too complicated.
The thing is, when a guy’s bored, he could hit your inbox constantly to keep the conversation going, then stop texting without explanation for some time.
Suddenly, he’ll pop up again and be more interested in what’s going on with you than ever before. His endless texting is a way to pass the time, and he’s looking for anything to keep his mind occupied.
In all honesty, the guy might not be interested in you at all.
You know what? That’s okay.
If you don’t mind the daily conversations, then go ahead and enjoy it while it lasts. You could be entertained and might even learn a thing or two from him.
But if you feel that you’d rather not have to deal with his daily texts, then it’s time for you to step in and make him understand that there are better things he could be doing.
The best way to approach this is to be straightforward and honest. Just politely let him know and end the conversation.
3) He texts you every day because he likes your company
As social beings, people text because it’s an easy way to reach out and stay connected. And if a guy enjoys your company, instead of making a phone call, he’ll make an effort to stay in touch with you every single day.
When you meet a guy and he seems to enjoy your company, he’ll want to keep the connection after the initial meeting. He’ll want to show you that he enjoyed your company and most likely, the guy will contact you again for another date or hang-out session.
Keep in mind that texting doesn’t necessarily mean he has romantic intentions and is interested in dating you. However, it’s a great sign if he’s trying to stay in touch.
He could send random texts throughout the day. He may even send you goofy memes or GIFs to make you laugh.
He’s interested in engaging you in conversation through text because he enjoyed his experience while you picked each others’ brains. He’ll want to text you because when he sees your name pop up on his phone screen, a smile appears on his face.
If he had the option of texting you for a repeat experience, why not take that option?
4) He’s trying to make a good impression
When you first meet someone, the pressure is on for you to make a good impression. You want them to like you, and you want them to remember you fondly.
This has nothing to do with whether they’re attracted to you or not, but it’s in the guy’s best interest if he leaves a good impression.
So when you first meet him and become acquainted with him, of course, he’ll want to send you text messages and chat. That way, he can show you how cool he is as a person, and that he could be someone you’d want to call a friend (or even more).
Guys text to do just that – make an impression. By constantly reaching out to you, he’s hoping that you’ll remember him fondly and think highly of him.
It can be tough to make a good first impression, but this guy’s doing everything in his power to make sure that he leaves a lasting positive impression on you.
The more your relationship progresses, the less likely he’ll feel that pressure anymore. He’s comfortable around you and no longer feels like he has to go above and beyond in order for you guys to bond.
Who knows? You could end up being good friends with each other. Then, later on, develop a romantic relationship.
5) He’s just trying to be nice
Being nice is one of the most important things in life, and if a guy is nice to you, it’s definitely a good sign.
If a guy is text messaging you every day, it doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s interested in you romantically. It could mean that he’s just trying to be nice.
Is this a good or a bad thing?
Well, that depends on how you look at it.
Some guys might be texting you because he thinks of himself as being a nice guy, but doesn’t do anything else for you – like asking you out on dates or showing interest in going further with the girl – then you could be wasting your time.
He may just be using you for attention, and that’s not cool.
On the other hand, other guys might text you every day just because they’re trying to be nice and show you that they care. It could be a sign that he likes you in some way, and it’s not always related to romance.
If a man seems genuinely interested in getting to know you better, then that’s a good thing. You should take this guy seriously because he might be someone you could have a potential relationship with and turn out to be a really important person later on in your life.
At the end of the day, who wouldn’t say yes to some extra kindness?
6) He’s shamelessly flirting with you
Flirting is a guy’s way of showing you he’s interested in you. It’s an indirect way of showing interest in you and your personality.
In addition, there may be some romantic attraction that keeps him going back to text you every day.
When a guy flirts with you by texting you dozens of times, it’s a telling sign of any of these possible scenarios:
He’s not ashamed to admit he likes you
He doesn’t care if people will see him as desperate or weak when they find out that he’s got his sights on a girl who already has other men texting her every day.
When the guy is an alpha male, he’ll join the text brigade to show his flirting skills. He’ll be upfront and make an effort to show how confident and shamelessly dominant he can be in front of other guys.
He wants to go on another date with you
When a guy texts you every day, it could be his way of trying to schedule another date with you. If he’s been asking for your number and then texting you all the time, he likely wants to take things further and spend more time with you.
If he keeps on texting you even when you don’t reply, it’s a sign he’s interested in you. Guys don’t usually put in all this effort if they’re not that serious about getting to know you better.
He wants a chance with you
Courting a woman isn’t as popular as before, but texting every single day is one way of making sure you know he’s interested. He’ll use modern technology to his advantage.
Guys who text you every day usually want something more from you than just a casual conversation. They’re interested in getting to know you on a deeper level and seeing where things can go from there.
He’s hoping you’ll become his girlfriend soon
If a guy is constantly texting you and trying to make plans with you, it’s probably because he wants to be your boyfriend soon.
Guys don’t usually put in this much effort if they’re not serious about a girl. They want to know they’re getting a good deal in exchange for their efforts.
If a guy’s texting every day, it means he’s either trying hard to avoid rejection or to win your heart.
He may have already fallen head over heels with you and just can’t help but text you every day because of how happy he is.
7) He’s using this as a way to get you into bed with him
Hooking up with a guy is always exciting. It’s even more exciting when he’s trying to get you into bed by sending naughty text messages.
You get to imagine what he’s doing when you’re not with him and it gives your imagination a chance to run amok.
He could send morning texts every day and try to put his moves on you as much as possible, like how physically attractive you are than anything else.
Then as the night comes by, he’ll text you before you go to bed and ask if there’s any chance that he could drop by your place to say good night.
If you’re game with hooking up, with no strings attached and you know what he’s after, then go for it. There’s nothing wrong with a guy wanting to get sex out of the deal.
Just don’t make it your expectation that he falls in love with you and sticks around because chances are, if he gets what he wants from you, there’ll be no reason for him not to move on.
As long as it’s clear what his intentions are, there’s no harm in it. Just make sure you don’t get too emotionally attached to him.
But if you’re looking for something more serious, steer clear from this guy. This could lead to more heartache than you’re ready for.
8) He’s lonely and just wants some company
It may sound sad, but sometimes guys will text a woman when they’re feeling down or lonely. They want someone to talk to and texting is an immediate way to make them better.
You may be thinking, is he lonely to try to get into my pants? Is he just bored and seeks to pass time?
The thing is, bored guys are actually the ones who will take action and do something about it. A lonely guy, however, may not have anything better to do other than texting someone who can keep him company.
If he’s simply trying to get you to sleep with him, his messages will be a lot more flirty and suggestive. If he’s just trying to talk, his messages will be a lot more friendly and tame.
But perhaps he’s going through a difficult time in his life right now?
If the guy’s your friend and he finds solace in messaging you every day to alleviate his loneliness, why not let him? It’s a kind gesture to be supportive and understanding. You may even make his day a little bit brighter.
If he’s just an acquaintance and finds you to be a good listener, be respectful and continue responding to his texts. You never know, you may make a new friend this way!
9) He’s texting to make you jealous
Making a girl jealous is something a guy usually does when he’s interested in her, but is uncertain if she feels the same way.
If a guy’s trying to make you jealous, that guy’s interested in getting your attention.
An example of this is when a guy texts his daily experiences and nonchalantly sends you pictures of himself with other girls. He’s trying to make you feel insecure and might be curious to see if you’ll get jealous or not.
If you’re not interested in the guy, it’s best to just ignore his attempts and move on. It simply isn’t worth your time.
But if you’re interested, playing coy and enjoying the attention can work in your favor. What you can do is subtly flirt back and make him think that you’re interested in what he has to say.
Keep in mind, though, that if a guy is trying to make you jealous, there are no guarantees he won’t do the same thing when someone else tries to flirt with or even date him.
So be careful because he could be texting you to play games.
10) He wants to make sure you’re not mad at him
Did you and a guy have a fight that didn’t end well?
Arguments can sometimes be healthy among friends and couples. It could be about personal problems and other important stuff.
But when those arguments lead to one party feeling guilty or upset, that may not be good.
So if a man’s text messaging you every day, there could be that nagging feeling in his mind that you’re still upset about something he said or did. That can be overwhelming for him – and you, too.
He could send long texts to make sure that any residual anger or resentment is gone and that things are back to normal between the two of you.
It means that he doesn’t want to lose your friendship or relationship.
He wants to make sure that everything’s okay between you two because when problems are happening it affects both of you.
11) He misses you and wants to check up on you without being clingy
Men, in general, seem to have a fear of being perceived as super clingy and needy. They don’t want to smother any woman with attention and affection.
So when a guy texts you every day, it’s because he misses you and wants to know what you’re up to in your life.
He may also be talking about what fun times the two of you had together when he texts, hoping that maybe this time will lead to something more than just talking.
Will he sound needy? It depends on how you look at it.
People process information differently, and if you’re that type of woman who hates a guy who texts you too much and is always asking what’s up, then yes.
12) He texts you because he’s a shy guy
The range of emotions that a man feels when he’s interested in a woman can be difficult to navigate.
More often than not, his body language changes, and ends up being shy and uncertain. He could be insecure, not know what to say, or feel like they’re invading your space.
You’ll notice that he becomes uncomfortable and inarticulate when you’re around, or maybe even nervous or fidgety.
The solution to this is to resort to texting. It’s a less daunting way for him to communicate with you, and it also allows him to take some time to think about what he wants to say.
He might send messages that he only wants friendship, but deep down inside there’s this deep attraction for you. He could also easily craft the perfect message without feeling like he’s under pressure in person.
So the next time this guy texts you every day, don’t freak out about his shyness. It just means that he thinks of you often and wants to make a good impression.
Relax and take things slow; let him lead the conversation. If he’s interested in you, he’ll find ways to make contact with you.
13) He texts you because he values your opinion
A guy who values your opinion will take every opportunity to text you for advice on everything, from what shirt to wear to how to deal with a difficult situation at work.
He may also be looking for validation or feedback. Oftentimes, guys will text their buddies about personal matters, but if he’s texting you instead of his friends, that probably means he trusts and respects your opinion more.
That brings such a great vibe right there.
Why? Because you’re not an afterthought. Your opinion matters enough for him to want it.
So be flattered! Asking your opinion about personal issues and other things is a sign that he respects and values you.
A word of advice, though: don’t offer too much of your own opinion. Let him come to his conclusions, so he can gain a greater sense of self-awareness and independence.
14) He likes your friend and he wants you to set him up with her
Did you ever experience receiving text messages from a guy who keeps on asking for information about your friend? If yes, then it’s a sure sign that he’s attracted to her and he wants you to help him out and set him up with her.
Now, being a bridge to a guy to get to your friend isn’t bad at all.
It’s a good thing to do for your friend who needs a little help with their social life. It’s also a good indication that he feels safe around you enough to make you his wingman.
But being the bridge to a guy will only be a good idea if you don’t feel any romantic feelings towards him. If you do, then it’s best not to help him out and let nature take its course.
The last thing you want to happen is to end up breaking your heart because you’re playing matchmaker to someone who you’re secretly crushing on.
One text at a time
Texting is quick and convenient. It’s a good way to stay in touch without being too demanding or overwhelming when you’re busy.
With these interesting reasons why a guy’s texting you every day, there’s a good chance that he’s seeking your attention and looking to bond with you.
He could send flirty texts, funny texts, or even just say hi. He could also strike up a conversation because of mutual interests.
Moreover, he could text you because he needs your help as his wingman.
Whatever his intentions are, what’s important is that you take the time to understand why he’s texting you and somehow appreciate the effort he’s making. Respond positively, and let him know that you’re happy to hear from him.
If you’re not interested in him and any of his intentions at all, be honest. Let him know politely and move on.
But if your correspondences end up with you as a good friend, it’s an even better bonus!
Now, if you’re interested, keep the conversation going and take it to the next level. Flirt with him a little bit and see where it leads.
Chances are, he’s just trying to get your attention in a way that’s not too overbearing. As long as you’re mindful of his intentions, there’s no harm in enjoying a guy who texts you every day.
