Are you wondering why he is ignoring your texts and messages?

I know, this situation can be really hard, but lucky for you, there are 19 things you can do when he is ignoring your texts!

What you should do

Okay, let’s start off with the things you should do when you’re in this situation.

1) Stay calm and don’t lose your cool

The first thing you should do when a guy isn’t texting back is to stay calm. There is no use in freaking out, believe me! It’s not going to do you any good.

Instead, think about the fact that there are a million reasons he might not be texting you right now.

Just to name a few:

  • his phone died
  • he is busy with work
  • there was an emergency with a friend or family member
  • he forgot his phone at home
  • he hasn’t checked his phone because he’s doing something else

When you freak out, you will overreact and regret it later, trust me, I speak from experience.

Instead, try taking a deep breath and distract yourself until you hear back from him.

Further down in this article I will list a few things you can do to make the time go by faster!

2) Don’t text him angrily why he didn’t answer

We just went over the fact that there are numerous reasons he might not be answering right now.

As far as you know, he has your best interest at heart and wants to get back to you as soon as he is able to.

Now imagine this: he’s swamped with something important but planned out a time to text you back later that day.

Before that time comes, you sent him an angry text about why he isn’t answering.

This will create unnecessary drama and will quite frankly turn almost any guy off.

Instead, just wait it out and be patient.

If it’s been a while, you can send him a kind text letting him know that you are thinking about him and that you hope everything is okay.

If he doesn’t respond, try not to get too upset.

There is nothing wrong with being a little concerned, but if you let your emotions get the best of you, you will end up stressing yourself out for no reason.

Be patient and give him some space to work through whatever it is he is dealing with at the moment.

3) Bring out his inner hero

Another great way to get him to reply (and never even ignore you in the first place), is to bring out his inner hero.

You see, there’s a new theory in the relationship world that’s causing quite a stir – it’s called the hero instinct.

Coined by relationship expert James Bauer, this fascinating concept finally explains how men really think and feel in relationships.

And it’s something most women have never even heard of.

According to James Bauer, men don’t actually need a lot to feel content in their relationships. In fact, what they need has nothing to do with sex.

Men have certain innate drivers. And when a woman comes along and triggers them, it causes a powerful response.

The result is a man who loves harder, commits wholeheartedly, and truly dedicates himself to the relationship.

So, how can you trigger your man’s hero instinct?

The easiest thing to do is to watch this simple and genuine video by James Bauer.

The truth is, once you understand how the hero instinct works, there’s no telling what heights your relationship can reach.

So if you want to give your man what he truly wants from you, make sure to check out James Bauer’s excellent video. In it, he reveals the exact texts and phrases you can use straight away.

4) Don’t send him tons of texts

The last thing you want to do is send a guy tons of texts trying to get him to respond.

He might be busy and not able to answer, but every time you send him a text, it’s going to remind him that he needs to get back to you.

This will lead him to feel like he needs to answer you right away and will put a lot of pressure on him.

Instead, wait a reasonable amount of time before sending another text.

This could be anywhere from a couple of hours up to several days depending on the situation.

If he really likes you, then he will make sure to get back to you as soon as possible.

In the meantime, try doing something fun so that your mind can be distracted from worrying about why he isn’t responding yet!

Think about it: there are only two reasons he isn’t replying:

Either, he has something really important to do right now and physically can’t respond, or he doesn’t want to reply.

Now: whatever is the reason for his silence, flooding his phone with texts will turn him off immediately.

If he doesn’t have time to respond, then texting him will just stress him out.

If he doesn’t want to reply, then texting him will just make him feel pressured and annoyed.

In both situations, you will just be making the situation worse by trying to get a hold of him.

Instead, just wait it out and try to be patient.

5) Know your self-worth

I know, it can be very hard not to feel like crap when a guy you like isn’t replying to you.

But at that moment, remembering your self-worth is more important than ever before!

Remember all the good things about yourself and all the things you have going for you.

You are a wonderful person and there are plenty of other guys out there that would be lucky to have you in their life.

If he doesn’t want to be a part of that, then that’s his loss!

Your worth is not dependent on this guy’s reply, so try to not put too much importance on it.

And if he doesn’t respond to you, then move on with your life.

It’s not worth it to sit around waiting for someone who isn’t going to give you the time of day.

Approaching a situation like that will also help you to put things into perspective a little bit.

You know, oftentimes we freak out over something little like not hearing from a person for a few hours because our sense of self-worth depends on it.

If you can regain your sense of self-worth, then you will be able to think about what is happening a lot more rationally, believe me!

6) Don’t take it so personally

You know, I was talking with my friend about this the other day.

She was upset because the guy she was dating didn’t contact her for two days and she felt like he wasn’t interested in her anymore.

Understandably, she was freaking out, but she went as far as blaming herself and just taking the situation way too personally.

Do you want to know what happened?

He called her 2 days later apologizing for his absence, he had dropped his phone into a river and it took him 2 days to get a new one.

You see, we have a tendency to immediately assume that whatever another person does is about us.

The thing is, that’s rarely the case!

We might not be able to control what other people do, but we can control how we react to them.

If you see this situation as an opportunity to learn how to be more patient and handle things in a more positive way, then by all means take advantage of it!

By accepting that it’s not about you and moving on from the situation, you will have learned a valuable lesson that will help you in the future.

7) Wait a day or two before texting him again

No matter what you end up doing, don’t text him again right away. This will make you come across as needy and clingy.

Think about it: this makes you seem as if you’re begging for a conversation with him, and that’s not what you want.

You are the prize here, so he’d be lucky if he gets to talk to you, right?

So, by waiting a day or two you give him the necessary space to reply.

You can also make sure that your last message to him was one that warrants a response!

One-word answers can sometimes leave him hanging, not sure what to say to you right away.

So, whatever you do, wait a bit before reaching out to him again!

8) Was your text time-sensitive?

Sometimes, you’ll have a date set up, you text him to confirm the details, and then you don’t hear anything back.

In that situation, it is completely fine to text him again to double-check.

After all, you don’t want to get stood up!

Maybe he actually missed your last text or had a lot to do and forgot to reply right away.

Say something like: “Hey, I’m just making sure our plans are still on since I haven’t heard back from you!”

You can also give him a time frame like if you don’t hear back from him by 5pm you’ll assume the plans are off for now and you’ll pick a different date.

If you’re trying to get a response from him within a short period of time, don’t be afraid to be direct about it, as it shows him that you respect yourself and your time.

9) Send him a lighthearted text

I know, sometimes it can be hard to focus on other things when you feel anxious about this situation.

In that case, it’s okay to check in one last time and send a text.

The crucial part is: keep it as lighthearted as possible so that you don’t sound desperate to talk to him.

You don’t want to come off as needy, right?

Instead, use this as a chance to have fun and get his attention!

Trust me, if a guy likes you, he will love receiving a funny check-in text from you!

Maybe your text might even trigger his inner hero a little bit!

I mentioned this fascinating concept earlier: the hero instinct.

When a man’s inner hero is triggered, he’s more likely to give you all of his attention.

Just by knowing the right things to say to him, you’ll open a part of him that no woman has ever reached before.

And the best way to do so is by watching this free video by James Bauer. In it, he’ll reveal simple phrases and texts you can use to make your man truly yours.

Here’s a link to the excellent video again.

10) If you don’t want to think about it too much: don’t text at all

Sometimes you already have a feeling that things are kind of over.

You’ll notice a guy reply less and less over a few days before going completely MIA.

In that case, not texting him at all is probably your best bet.

It will save you a lot of time and energy, as well as make him feel that you are really independent and not needy.

If it’s been a few days since your last text, but still no reply from him, try giving him some space to see what happens.

I know this is probably not what you want to hear but the thing is: if he wanted to, he would.

This applies to almost anything:

  • texting you
  • taking you out on a date
  • making time for you
  • checking up on you
  • doing something sweet for you

All these things only need one thing: for him to want to do it.

So: if he hasn’t texted in a day or two, it’s honestly his loss!

It’s better to be alone than to be with someone who isn’t interested in you.

If you have already texted him and he hasn’t replied, don’t stress out too much.

Just try to put yourself in his shoes and see if there is any reason why he wouldn’t reply.

If he is really busy and can’t text you back, he will eventually, right?

And if not, you know where you stand and can move on without wasting any more time or energy.

What you shouldn’t do

Now, let’s look at the things you should avoid doing at all costs while you’re in this situation.

I know, some of these will be difficult to avoid, but you can do it!

11) Don’t text him in a bad mood

If you text him while you’re angry, he’s likely to respond defensively, which could lead to an argument or uncomfortable conversations that could be avoided.

Guys seem to avoid arguments like the plague- so don’t ask why he hasn’t answered when you’re mad, or else it will only confuse him and make him less likely to want to talk to you again!

Instead, wait until you’ve calmed down before texting him, or don’t text at all!

12) Don’t let him control your day

Okay, this one is really easier said than done.

When a guy you like doesn’t reply, you obviously want to know why and likely can’t stop thinking about it.

But this only makes you more anxious.

Instead, try to put it out of your mind for a day or two and then text him again.

He may have just been busy, but if he hasn’t replied in a few days, he probably isn’t interested in you anymore!

I know this is hard to do when you’re so used to getting regular updates from him, but trust me:

You shouldn’t let a guy’s text control your entire day!

Don’t give him that kind of power, especially when you aren’t even in a committed relationship yet!

Know your sense of self-worth and be more powerful than that!

To help you out, here are some more things you can do to help distract you:

Activities to distract you

If you are only looking for a quick fix, here are a few activities that will distract you until he will text you back:

13) Go for a long walk or run without your phone

One thing you can do is go for a long walk or run without your phone.

This will give you time to think about what’s going on and clear your head.

Going for a long walk or running by yourself can help you destress and relax.

And the best part?

It prevents you from checking your phone every 10 seconds for a text from him!

Just make sure that you don’t have any high expectations of having a text when you get back home, or it will leave you even more disappointed!

14) Call up a friend

If he’s not answering your texts, the best thing to do is call up a friend.

If you’re feeling upset or worried about his silence, then it might be time to talk to someone. Call up a friend and have a chat.

You can talk about what’s going on and share your feelings with them.

It will help you calm down and get your mind off the situation.

Plus, you can chat about all kinds of things and he might not cross your mind for hours!

15) Go outside

The fresh air will do you a lot of good, and the time away from your phone will help to clear your head.

Going outside has many benefits, from making you feel happier to allowing yourself to get some perspective on your situation.

Think about it: it can all feel a lot more serious when you’re sitting home alone waiting for a text.

Outside, your problems suddenly seem a lot smaller and less significant.

16) Hang out with friends or family

A great way to distract yourself is to hang out with friends or family.

You can do something fun and interesting, or just talk about how you’re feeling.

Going out with friends will also allow you to let off some steam by laughing and having a good time together.

Plus, you’ll remember that you are loved and appreciated for who you are, with or without that guy’s response.

17) Pursue a hobby of yours

You can focus on your hobbies to take the time away from thinking about him. This will allow you to focus on yourself and not wait for his response.

Continue doing what you love to do like exercise, watch TV, read a book or paint your nails.

If you’re someone who likes to keep busy, go out with friends and family, or volunteer in your community.

Organize your room, clean out a closet or organize pictures from when you were younger or last traveled.

These things will keep your mind busy and will make time fly!

18) Use the time to learn something new

While you wait, you can use the time to do something productive.

Maybe you decide to take a cooking class, or even take up a new language!

You see, when you use situations like this to improve yourself, you will actually have a win-win situation on your hands.

You are bettering yourself and any guy would be lucky to have you in his life!

On that note:

19) Work on yourself

One of the first things you should do in this situation is work on yourself.

Are you confident? Is your life balanced? These are questions you need to ask yourself.

If you’re not confident, then practice being confident by doing things that make you feel good about yourself and make you feel more attractive.

If there are problems in your life, try to balance them out by working through them as best as possible.

Working on yourself will not only make the time go by quicker, but it will also leave you with more confidence and self-esteem than before, which will make dealing with this situation a lot easier!

You got this!

No matter what you do, remember that you are worthy of love.

There are so many reasons he might not be replying, and none of them have to do with you!

Just give it some time and always remember, if he doesn’t want to be with you, then he wasn’t meant to and is making space for the person who’s supposed to be in your life!

And if you want to avoid ever feeling like this again?

I touched on the hero instinct earlier – it’s the perfect remedy for the situation you’re facing.

Why?

Because once a man’s hero instinct is triggered, he’ll only have eyes for you. You’ll reach a part of him that no woman has ever managed to reach before.

And in return, he’ll be compelled to commit to you and love you like he’s never loved another woman.

So if you’re ready to take that plunge and reach new heights in your relationship, make sure to check out relationship expert James Bauer’s invaluable advice.
