Do you feel like your girlfriend is obsessed with you?
Obsessive love can feel flattering at first, but after a while, it can become an unhealthy connection.
Find out if your girlfriend is obsessed with you and what you can do about it!
1) She constantly texts or calls you
If your girlfriend is constantly texting or calling you all the time, it can be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
If you and your partner share a healthy relationship, you should both be okay with some space in your conversations.
With an obsessed partner, you may feel like you have to respond to her text messages, emails, or phone calls right away.
Her constant communication can be a sign that she needs to be connected to you at all times.
This can be a problem if you have a lot going on in your life, or if you just want some time to yourself.
You see, there is nothing wrong with shooting each other a text or two throughout the day or calling your partner to see if everything is okay.
It becomes a problem, however, when you feel pressured to answer your partner’s texts or calls right away.
If you have a lot of work to do at the office, for example, your partner may feel hurt if you don’t respond to her emails or phone calls.
She may even accuse you of being with another woman, simply because you didn’t respond as soon as she wanted.
This is when things get tricky because sure if you don’t reply for ages she might be a bit worried about what you’re up to, but in general, not replying to a text for an hour or two should not raise concerns like that.
When you tell an obsessive girlfriend that you are at work and can’t answer her calls right now, she might not believe you.
She may even call your work and ask to speak with you. This is a sign that she is obsessed with you.
2) She constantly wants to hang out with you
Does your girlfriend want to spend every waking moment with you?
That may be a sign that she’s obsessed with you and doesn’t want to be apart from you.
If she is constantly trying to spend time with you, it could be that she’s afraid you will fall out of love with her if you have any free time away from her.
If she is serious about you, she should be okay with you having some time for yourself.
If your girlfriend is always trying to get you to spend time together, she may be obsessed with you and want you all to herself.
You see, when she notices that you are having a good time without her and wants to come along, she may be trying to take over your life and push you away from your friends.
Obsessed partners are needy and just don’t have enough self-confidence to enjoy time on their own or with other people.
If your girlfriend doesn’t want to spend any time apart from you, it can become a problem in your relationship.
You should both be able to have fun on your own or with friends from time to time without feeling guilty about it.
You see, in a healthy relationship, both partners should be okay with having some time to themselves and not worry about what the other one is doing.
Think about it: if you spend every waking moment together, you completely lose yourself as a person, because you only exist in your girlfriend’s life.
If your girlfriend is always trying to spend time with you, it could be a sign that she’s obsessed with you and doesn’t want to be apart from you.
Think about it: when she wants to hang out with you all the time, it doesn’t necessarily mean that she loves and cares about you more than other people do.
It just means that she’s afraid of losing you, which is a sign of insecurity.
If your girlfriend is always asking for time together, it’s possible that she isn’t comfortable spending time on her own or with friends because she is obsessed with you and can’t enjoy time apart.
3) She’s jealous of your time with friends
If your girlfriend is jealous of the time you spend with your friends, it could be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
A healthy partner should be okay with you hanging out with your friends.
If she constantly asks you to spend time with her instead of your friends, or if she gets upset when you go out with your friends, it may be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
Turns out that if your girlfriend is jealous of the time you spend with your friends, you may have a hard time keeping in touch with your friends and building a balanced life.
If she gets jealous of you spending time with your friends, she may also be jealous of you spending time with your family and trying to control your life.
Now: if she simply doesn’t like you going to the club alone or with your friends, that’s another story.
You see this can simply stem from past trust issues.
However, if she doesn’t want you to hang out with your friends at all, whether that’s playing video games or going out to eat, that can become an issue.
You definitely need some time alone with your friends, so make that clear to your girlfriend and explain it in a calm manner, so that she understands it has nothing to do with her.
4) She’s constantly checking up on you
Your girlfriend may be checking up on you if she’s constantly asking you what you are doing and where you are.
If she wants to know every detail about your life, she may be afraid that you are seeing other people and cheating on her. This can be a sign that she is obsessed with you and that she has trust issues.
If you feel like your girlfriend is constantly trying to check up on you, it may be a sign that she doesn’t trust you.
This can be a serious problem in a relationship and can cause a lot of conflicts.
If your girlfriend is constantly checking up on you, it may be because she’s afraid of losing you.
You see, this one is tricky because some girls are trying to get over their trust issues by controlling their boyfriend and asking about every detail of his life.
While this is not a long-term solution, for some, this behavior helps them to fully trust their boyfriends.
Now, if you suspect that’s the case, I would have a talk with your girlfriend about why she doesn’t fully trust you and how you can help to make her trust you more.
But at a certain point there’s nothing more you can do, so you either accept this behavior or you leave.
5) She stalks you on social media
If your girlfriend has a constant urge to check out your social media accounts, it may be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
It can be normal to check out your partner’s social media accounts once in a while, but if she is constantly checking out your social media accounts, it can be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
This can be a sign that your girlfriend doesn’t trust you and that she is trying to learn more about you without your knowledge.
Your partner should trust you, and if she doesn’t, she may be obsessed with you and check out your social media accounts to find more information about you.
Especially if she constantly monitors who you follow and what posts you like.
Now: while it can be disrespectful for a guy in a relationship to follow certain women on social media and like explicit photos of them, at a certain point in the relationship your girlfriend should know whether you are that kind of guy or not, and by then, she should know whether to stay or to leave.
Constantly checking social media doesn’t do either of you any favors.
6) She won’t let you go out without her
If your girlfriend expects you to go out with her all the time, it might be a sign that she is obsessed with you and wants to spend all your time with her.
A healthy relationship should let both partners spend time with their friends and have their own time apart.
If your girlfriend always wants to go out, go on vacation with you, or be around you all the time, it can be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
If she constantly wants to go out with you, she may be trying to take over your life and cut off your connection with your friends.
You see, this stems from insecurity again. Either she doesn’t trust you enough to go out without her or she doesn’t like spending time on her own.
A healthy relationship should have both partners enjoying their own time apart and spending time with their friends.
7) She is dependent on you to be happy
If your girlfriend expects you to make her happy, it could be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
If she needs you to be with her all the time and can’t enjoy her life without you, you may have a problem.
If you each have your own life and can enjoy your time apart, it’s normal to be happy together when you are together.
You see, if you have a girlfriend who is constantly checking up on you and won’t let you go out without her, she may be overbearing and dependent on you.
If your girlfriend is dependent on you to be happy, you may have a difficult time enjoying your life and being who you are.
The thing is, as soon as partners depend heavily on one another to be happy, the relationship isn’t healthy anymore, it’s codependent.
Codependency is a relationship in which one partner is dependent on the other to be happy. Codependent relationships are not healthy because it’s impossible to make someone else happy all the time.
8) She doesn’t trust you
Does your girlfriend constantly accuse you of cheating on her?
If she doesn’t trust you and accuses you of cheating, even when you haven’t, it may be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
If your girlfriend doesn’t trust you, it can be a sign that she is not in a healthy relationship and is obsessed with you.
You see, if she is constantly checking up on you, accusing you of cheating, and demanding that you prove your love for her, it may be a sign that she doesn’t trust you.
If she doesn’t trust you, and you don’t understand why it can be a serious problem in your relationship.
Sure, if you have given her a reason to doubt you, then trust issues are understandable to some degree.
In that case, you will need to do everything in your power to prove to her that you are trustworthy.
But if you haven’t given her a reason to doubt you and she is still questioning your every move, that’s when things become really unhealthy really quickly.
9) She wants to know your parents and friends right away
If your girlfriend wants to know your parents and friends right away and start spending time with them, it may be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
It is a good sign if she wants to learn more about your family and friends, but if she expects to be with them right away, it may be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
Your relationship should progress at a natural pace, and if your girlfriend wants to know your loved ones immediately, it may be a sign that she doesn’t have enough in her life or wants to immediately see signs of commitment on your side.
Your partner should have her own life and friends, and if she is constantly trying to get you to spend time with your friends and family, it can be a sign that she doesn’t have enough in her life.
Now: the thing is, when someone pressures you to meet your friends and family, that’s almost never a good sign.
However, if it’s been a few months of you two dating and you haven’t introduced her to any friends or family, then I understand where she’s coming from.
At some point, you need to take the plunge and introduce her, so that she knows you are serious about her.
10) She cuts the connection between you and all your friends
If your girlfriend cuts the connection between you and your friends, it may be a sign that she is obsessed with you.
It can be a serious problem if she expects you to cut off your friends and family for her.
If your girlfriend is constantly telling you to leave your friends or wants to cut off your contact with your family, she may be obsessed with you.
You see, when she wants you to break off your connection with your friends and family, she may be afraid that you will fall out of love with her and cheat on her.
If you are in a relationship with a woman who is obsessed with you, you may have a difficult time enjoying your life and being yourself.
You should be able to keep your own friends and enjoy your time away from your partner. If your girlfriend is obsessed with you, it can be a serious problem for your relationship.
In that case, it is often best to end the relationship. There is no use in trying to stay together when she is isolating you from friends and family.
That’s not healthy and will make you both miserable long-term.
You have to decide what to do
In the end, the decision is up to you.
You are the only one who knows if her behavior is bad enough to break up or if she will change.
In general, obsessive love can be very toxic for both of you, so if you notice a lot of these signs, you might be better off on your own.
However, open communication and honest talks might help you overcome these issues with your girlfriend.
