You have no idea how hurtful it is until you’re in this situation. You see your friends with their boyfriends, partners, or husbands and you’re alone on a Friday night again.

Perhaps you even had that one guy who took your breath away, but nothing came out of it. And now you can’t get over him…

Or maybe there was nothing to get over because you never dated?

You think about him all the time and it hurts because he clearly isn’t interested in you. Maybe he has a girlfriend or maybe he just isn’t interested in dating.

Whatever the case may be… it is tricky when we like someone who doesn’t like us back.

However, here are 15 tips to handle this situation:

1) Stop stalking his social media

Listen, if you really want to get over him, you have to stop stalking his every move on social media

This will not only help you get over him and move on but also help protect yourself from various triggers.

So, you need to unfollow him, unfriend him, and move on.

As simple as it may sound, I know it’s not. But it is important. With much time and practice, you will eventually be able to move forward and not feel this way anymore.

You don’t need to see what he is doing and keep track of who interacts with him. Focus on your own life and let him live his.

2) Stop focusing on him or what could have been

The next thing you can do is to stop focusing on “what ifs”.

You can’t change the past and you can’t change what could have been. This will only bring you down and make you feel bad about yourself.

So, you need to stop focusing on him and start focusing on yourself. Focus on you and your career, your family, your friends, your hobbies, and anything that makes you happy

It’s not healthy to focus on the past and on “what ifs”. If you want to get over him, you need to stop letting him consume your thoughts and start focusing on yourself.

3) Remind yourself that this feeling will pass

It’s not healthy to spend your whole life being single and pining away for someone who doesn’t like you back.

You will never get anywhere if you keep thinking about the past.

That’s why it’s important to remind yourself that this feeling will pass and hopefully, you’ll meet someone new and better.

You just need to be patient and this feeling will disappear. It is only temporary.

So, time is your best friend here. Use it wisely and use it to get over him.

4) What would a relationship coach say?

While this article will shed light on the main ways to get over a guy you never dated, it can be helpful to speak to a relationship coach about your situation.

With a professional relationship coach, you can get advice tailored to your unique situation…

Relationship Hero is a popular site where highly trained relationship coaches help people work through complex relationship issues, like moving on from someone. Their popularity boils down to how skilled their coaches are.

Why am I so confident that they can help you?

Well, after recently experiencing a tough patch in my own love life, I reached out to them for help. From the moment I got in touch, I was given genuine, helpful advice, and was finally able to see my issues with real clarity.

I was blown away by how kind and empathetic my coach was.

5) Learn from the experience

Here’s another practical tip if you can’t get over him even if you didn’t even date:

Learn as much as you can from the experience. Think about what happened and how you can use the experience to your advantage.

Maybe you can learn to be more confident or let go of control. Maybe you can learn to take a chance and approach guys, instead of waiting for them to approach you. Or maybe you can learn not to come on too strong.

There are countless things that we can learn from experiences and it would be a shame if all those lessons go to waste because we are fixated on the past with regrets or “what ifs”.

6) Change your routine

Sometimes we just need a change of scenery and a change of routine to get over someone. Yes, even someone we never dated.

So, if you used to drink your coffee while scrolling through his social media, then try something new.

You need to find a routine that is better for you and do it consistently. Instead of checking out his profiles, you can choose to learn more things about something that you’re passionate about.

Or, if you used to go together on lunch breaks, stop accompanying him. Find your own thing to do while eating.

Just try something different and see how it changes your perspective.

7) Practice self-care and positivity

Do you know what else to do if you can’t get over a guy even if you didn’t date him?

You need to practice self-care and positivity. To be more precise, you need to take care of yourself and your body.

Yes, sometimes we put ourselves last on our list and that’s not good.

However, if you want to get over him, you need to take care of yourself. You need to take time out of your day for self-care and make sure that your mind and body are in the best shape possible.

You also need to practice positivity by surrounding yourself with positive people and letting go of negativity in your life.

8) Improve the relationship you have with yourself

Let’s be honest about your situation.

It’s not easy. It’s enough to make you want to give up on love and walk away.

But I want to suggest a solution. You have all the tools you need to do this right now, right where you are.

I learned about this from the modern-day shaman Rudá Iandê. He taught me how the lies we tell ourselves about love are part of what traps us in situations like having to move on from someone we didn’t even date.

As Rudá explains in this transformational free video, love is available to us if we cut through the lies that we tell ourselves.

We need to face the facts about falling in love and moving on from it.

The alternative is to end up in loveless relationships or endless dating frustration that only leaves us cold and empty.

Rudá’s teachings showed me a whole new perspective.

While watching, I felt like someone understood my struggles to find real love – and finally offered an actual, practical solution to moving on from someone who doesn’t feel the same way about me.

If you’re done with wasting your time on a love that doesn’t work, I invite you to watch this short video and open your mind to new possibilities.

9) Tell yourself you deserve better

Are you still struggling to get over him?

Then you need to remind yourself that you deserve better. You deserve to be treated with respect and you also deserve to find a guy who will love and treat you well.

So, tell yourself that you deserve better and that this one didn’t work out because he wasn’t the one

Maybe you’ve put him on a pedestal or maybe you’ve set him up as the “ideal guy”.

Either way, it’s time to change your perception. Keep telling yourself that you deserve better and you deserve to meet someone who treats you well and loves you for who you are.

10) Take risks and don’t be afraid to meet new people

If you want to get over him, you need to take risks and meet new people.

This will help you stop focusing on the past and move forward. You need to meet new people, join a group of similar interests, or find a hobby that will help you meet new people.

So, go out there and do things that are a little different from your ordinary routine.

Stop being afraid to approach someone in a social setting. Or, go on vacation with your family and meet new people from different places.

There are numerous things that you can do, so take a chance and see how it goes.

11) Channel your sadness into something productive

You can channel your sadness into something productive so you can get over him.

Take up a new hobby and do something that makes you happy and that you enjoy. Find something that you love and that you can get lost in.

It can be anything as long as it makes you happy. If painting makes you happy, then go ahead and paint. If going to the gym on a regular basis makes you happy, then go ahead and work out.

Make sure that whatever you choose to do is something you enjoy and that helps you get over him because that’s what matters in the end – your happiness.

12) Find your support system

What else can you do to get over him even if you never dated?

Find your support system and lean on them when you need to.

Simply put, you need to find people who you can trust and who can help you get over him. You can rely on them when you’re feeling sad, discouraged, or just down in general.

It’s important that you are able to talk about your feelings and thoughts with someone who will listen.

That way, you won’t feel like this is the end of the world and focus on distracting yourself with bad habits that make it even harder for you to get over him.

13) Don’t try to be his friend

You might be tempted to try and be friends with him.

But, don’t do it.

It will only make it harder for you to get over him. You’re not going to be able to hang out with him and just be friends when all you want is to date him or be with him in some way.

So, focus on your life and try not to think about him too much. Although you might think so, he will not change his mind just because you’re always around.

On the contrary, he might get turned off because you’re trying to be friends with him.

14) Delete everything that reminds you of him

Do you have any texts, photos, or anything else that reminds you of him?

Then, delete them immediately.

Delete everything that reminds you of him because keeping them will only make things worse for you. You won’t be able to move on and you’ll only keep looking back.

Also, if you have any items that belong to him, don’t think twice before throwing those away. You don’t need to keep reminders of the past. Just toss them out or donate them to a charity shop and move on with your life.

15) Be confident in who you are and focus on your future instead of the past

If you’re struggling to get over him, ask yourself why.

Maybe you’re still trying to be with him but then stop thinking that way because he’s not interested. You need to be confident in who you are and what you want in life

So, focus on your future instead of the past, and don’t dwell on your feelings for him. Let them go because they will only hold you back from moving forward

Focus on who you are and what you want in life. Treat yourself well, make sure that you’re taking care of yourself, and don’t let what happened to keep you from going forward.

How to get over someone you never dated but slept with?

Do you want to know how to get over someone you never dated but slept with?

First of all, you should stop sleeping with him. You can’t get over him if you’re always around him and keep sleeping together.

Also, you need to stop hoping that he will want more from you. If you’re hoping that he will want more from you, then you’re going to be disappointed.

You’re not going to be able to move on until you let go of this hope and believe that he will not come around and want to commit to you.

What you really need to do is talk yourself out of the idea that he will change his mind about wanting a serious relationship with you. You need to understand that he’s not willing to take it to the next level.

So, stop trying to get more from him and focus on treating yourself well and finding someone who will love and treat you right.

Why do I miss someone I didn’t even date?

It’s normal to miss someone you never dated, especially if you got close to him.

Maybe you were really close to each other, but then he broke your heart and you realize that you want more than just something casual with him.

If you’re wondering why you miss someone that you didn’t even date, here are a few reasons why this might happen.

1) You liked being around him and enjoyed having fun together

You might have liked being around him and having fun together. Maybe he was the kind of guy who was always up for anything and never failed to make you smile.

2) He was providing you with emotional support

Maybe he was there for you when you needed emotional support. He was always by your side in times of need.

3) He was charming and funny

Maybe he was charming and funny. He made you laugh, and he was just great to be around.

Also, he always knew what to say to make you feel better when you were feeling down or upset about something.

4) He showed interest in you but then left you hanging out there

Maybe he showed interest in you and even invited you out on a date, but then didn’t follow through with it or broke your heart by saying that he just wanted to be friends with benefits only.

And now you miss him.

Final thoughts

So, how can you get over someone you never dated?

Even if you never dated, it’s normal to miss him and feel sad about what happened.

However, you can get over him by following the tips I’ve shared with you here.

First, find a distraction that will help you get over him. Then, focus on taking care of yourself because he’s not going to be there for you.
