What’s manifestation and how does it work?

Manifestation is the act of bringing into physical reality what you want from your subconscious mind.

It’s an act of creation.

You have the power to manifest anything you want and need in your life through the use of your imagination and emotions.

So how does manifestation work?

The law of attraction says that your thoughts and feelings draw energy to them. This energy then manifests in the physical world. Basically, this means that you have the power to manifest your thoughts into reality.

When you manifest, you are asking the universe to give you what you have been thinking hard about.

A big part of manifestation is believing that the universe will make it happen.

You have the power to manifest anything you want and need in your life through the use of your imagination and emotions.

They say that negative thoughts attract negative outcomes, while positive thoughts attract positive outcomes.

Let’s say for example that you have a job that you hate. You would manifest this feeling into the physical world by complaining about how much you don’t like your job. Thus, your thoughts will end up attracting more negative situations that will make you want to complain about your job even more.

On the other hand, let’s say that you love your job and feel happy working there. Then obviously you would feel good when thinking about your job, thus attracting positive and happy situations such as promotions or a raise into your life.

The law of attraction states that whatever you think about, you will attract more of.

1) Be clear that you want your ex back

The first step is to be very clear about what you want.

Think about it, take your time.

Ask yourself why you want your ex back?

Is it because you love them deeply and life isn’t the same without them in it? Is it because they made everything better? Is it because they are the love of your life?

Ask yourself if this is really what you want?

Now that you’re sure you want your ex back, you need to tell the universe.

The more detail you go into the better. So think about your ex, their name, what they look like, everything about them. Think about how good they make you feel.

Now, think about being together. Picture them in your mind. Picture what you would do when you are with them.

Imagine that you have your ex back in your arms and everything is great and back to normal.

Once you have a picture of your ex in your life again, then it’s time to put all this emotion and energy into it.

To do so, just imagine that the universe hears every thought you have about them.

This might sound crazy but it’s true.

2) Say goodbye to any limiting beliefs

Limiting beliefs are the worst!

If you are still not sure that your ex will come back, it’s time to let go of any limiting beliefs.

Some limiting beliefs might sound something like this:

  • I’m not worthy of a relationship with him
  • All men cheat
  • Relationships never work out for me
  • I’m a loser
  • I will never find love again

They can really hold you back and prevent you from manifesting the ex that you want back into your life.

You see, these negative thoughts and beliefs may hinder your manifestation because negative thoughts and beliefs will continue to attract more of the same (as stated in the law of attraction).

So if you have these kinds of thoughts going through your head then you need to get rid of them ASAP!

Instead, think about how good it would feel when your ex comes back into your life.

A good way to concur your limiting beliefs is to come up with a list of positive affirmations to repeat to yourself:

  • I’m worthy of love
  • Any man would be lucky to be with me
  • He will come back to me
  • We will be happy
  • This will work

If you have a manifestation journal or visualization board, you can also add your positive affirmations there. Make sure to repeat your affirmations over and over several times a day and especially when in doubt.

Limiting beliefs are bad in general, not only when it comes to manifestation. They are often what hold people back from being happy in their lives. You need to believe that you can achieve anything you set your mind to.

Simply put, these beliefs are just not true and it’s time for you to let them go.

3) Visualize getting back with your ex in detail

Visualization is a very important step in manifesting your ex and can help you speed up the manifestation process.

  • Start by finding a nice and quiet place where you can concentrate
  • Sit down in a comfortable position
  • You may want to take a couple of minutes to focus on your breath and center yourself
  • Now: Picture the place you’ll meet. Is it at your home? In a park? In a cafe? It’s probably a place you know very well.
  • Now, picture them clearly in your mind’s eye. What do they look like? Their hair, their eyes, their hands, the way they smell, what they’ll be wearing. Think about the way they walk. Do they look happy? Picture their smile. You want to go into as much detail as possible.
  • Picture meeting them: You walk towards each other. You hug and hold each other for several minutes without letting go. Tears run down your cheeks. You feel happier and more complete than you’ve felt in your whole life.
  • Imagine what they’d say to you, what you’d say to them.
  • Feel the relief and the happiness of the moment.
  • Do this for at least 10 minutes.
  • Visualize succeeding in your manifestation!

4) Write out your intention by hand

By writing out your intention by hand, you are more likely to hold onto it and believe in it.

Your subconscious mind will be more receptive to this.

Some people like to have manifestation journals where they write out their intentions and manifest them regularly.

It’s quite easy to write out your intentions so make sure you explain why you are manifesting your ex back into your life in detail. It will truly help with the manifestation process.

The more detail you go into, the better your manifestation will be.

Write down all of your thoughts, desires, and feelings about your ex.

5) Use affirmations for manifesting your ex

An affirmation is a positive statement that you repeat to yourself several times throughout the day.

I have the amazing relationship I always wanted

The simple process of repeating affirmations can help move you forward and closer to the manifestation of getting your ex back.

I don’t care if it sounds corny or new age-y but trust me it works and it’s worth doing.

It’s very important that you don’t just say these statements once but repeat them several times a day, every day, while focusing on them and visualizing them in your mind.

They will start working once you fully believe in them and what they are saying.

6) Trust the universe to do its thing

Finally, you have done all the work on your end, now it’s time to sit back, relax and let the universe do its thing.

It’s as easy as it sounds.

You just have to wait for your ex to come back to you.

It may take some time, so don’t panic if they don’t come running back to you the next day. Sometimes it takes a few days or even weeks.

If it’s been a couple of weeks and you still haven’t heard from your ex, don’t worry! Just go back to the first step and start the manifestation again.

Increase your vibrational energy with:

1) Meditation

One of the easiest ways to increase your vibrational energy is to meditate.

By taking time out of your day to meditate and relax, you can induce a deep state of relaxation and positive feelings.

Meditation is a great way to de-clutter your mind and it can help ease anxiety and stress.

One of my favorite types of meditation is mindful meditation.

Try this exercise:

Take a few minutes out of your day and find a quiet place where you can relax.

Sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and then focus on your breathing.

Bring yourself to the present moment by focusing on the air coming in through your nose and going out through the mouth or perhaps just focus on one breath at a time.

You see, there’s no past, there’s no future, there’s only the present and in the present is your breath.

This process will help slow down your thoughts and make you feel more at peace. It is also great for helping you to relax which can ultimately make you feel happier.

What’s more, your vibrational energy will increase tenfold once you practice breathing meditation.

2) Breathwork

Breathwork is a powerful way to help you switch negative emotions for positive ones.

In breathwork, you focus on your breathing and make it as deep, quiet, and relaxed as possible.

When I was struggling the most in life, I was introduced to an incredible free breathwork video created by the shaman, Rudá Iandê.

In my opinion, practicing yoga is one of the best things you can do for yourself to improve your vibrational energy.

4) Gratitude

Practice gratitude! The practice of gratitude has been shown to increase your happiness, by making you feel more connected, more energetic, and happier overall.

Gratitude will increase your vibrational energy and help you with your manifestation.

But before you ask the universe for more things – before you ask for your ex back – take a moment to appreciate and be grateful for what you already have.

5) Be generous

By being generous with your time and money you can create a positive vibration in your life.

Be generous with your time and money.

Spend some time thinking of others instead of yourself.

Do you have older parents that need a hand taking out the trash or putting some groceries away?

Or do you know of a neighbor that has been sick and needs to be taken care of?

Maybe you can volunteer for an organization in your local town?

Giving and helping are very rewarding experiences.

What’s more, when you give, the universe gives back.

6) Diet

You may not think it but your diet can seriously impact your vibrational energy.

It’s important to eat foods that contain higher energy levels.

It’s all about eating healthy: leafy green vegetables, legumes, honey, fruit, and unprocessed grains.

You should avoid: meat, fish, animal products, fried foods, alcohol, and highly processed foods.

Basically, it’s all about foods that are healthy and that do not harm the earth.

7) Exercise

Exercise not only helps you feel better but also boosts your vibrational energy.

Regular physical activity improves the flow of oxygen to your brain and therefore increases your physical and emotional well-being.

It lifts you up emotionally, increases self-esteem, and makes you feel happier.

It’s all about balance.

8) Nature

Spend time outside in nature and you will experience positive feelings.

The natural world is a source of strength and inspiration.

It can help you to connect to yourself, to nature, and spirit.

Spending time in nature will also positively impact your vibrational energy levels.

Dos and don’ts when manifesting

Here are some dos and don’ts that will help you manifest your ex and anything else you want in your life.

Do: Trust that the universe knows what it’s doing

Do: Be very specific on what you want to manifest

Don’t: Be hazy or unsure of what you want

Do: Continually check in with your goal

Don’t: Give up

Do: Make manifesting a part of your daily life

Don’t: Be afraid to ask for help

Don’t: Let yourself have any doubts
