Does he like me?
Does he think of me as a friend or something more?
Does he think about me at all?
Whether you’ve just broken up or entertaining the idea of a relationship on the horizon, mixed signs can be very confusing.
Without knowing the right signs to be on the lookout for, you could be missing out on some crucial signals that tell you just how he feels about you.
Most guys won’t come out and say it straight to your face. So, it’s up to you to work out exactly how he feels about you.
So, whether it’s an ex or a potential future boyfriend, we go through all the signs to help you work out what is really going through his head.
8 signs your ex is thinking about you – and exactly what that means
Breaking up with a guy is hard. No matter whether you’re the one doing the dumping or the dumpee.
What follows is a period of no contact, while you both sort out your feelings and move on. But, wouldn’t it be nice to know exactly what your ex is thinking during this time?
Is it really over, or did you both just need a little space from each other.
Depending on how things ended, you might be holding out a little hope that there’s still a future together. There’s only one way to find out and it’s by reading the signs right in front of you.
7 signs your ex is thinking about you:
1) He’s acting depressed
A breakup is hard on both people in a relationship.
While you will both hit your own lows along the way, if your ex is showing signs of depression, it could be because you’re at the top of his mind. Along with many regrets he might have about the relationship.
Of course, how do you tell if you aren’t seeing him anymore?
Check up on him on social media. See if any of his posts are indicating signs of depression. Does he post dark poems? Dark songs? Dark images?
You’ll notice a stark change in the types of posts he puts up between before you broke up and after.
They may even go in the opposite direction. He might start putting up lots of photos of himself heading out and having fun with friends. He’s trying to let everyone know that he’s fine.
He’s definitely still thinking about you and even trying to convince himself he’s fine and getting over the relationship. But trust us, he’s not.
2) He posts about you
Instead of acting depressed, your ex does the opposite and starts posting about you on his socials.
Sure, he’s not going to mention you by name. But you know that the post is about you.
It could be along the lines of… “Missing someone so deeply, so many regrets”.
The posts will be vague and quite confusing.
He might even post a favourite poem about the two of you, or even your favourite song. It means nothing to everyone else reading it on social media. But you know who it’s about.
He’s letting you know he’s thinking about you and social media is the ideal way to get his message across.
3) What would a gifted advisor say?
The signs above and below in this article will give you a good idea about whether he’s thinking about you.
Even so, it can be very worthwhile to speak to a gifted person and get guidance from them. They can answer all sorts of relationship questions and take away your doubts and worries.
Like, is he really thinking about you? Are you meant to be with him?
I recently spoke to someone from Psychic Source after going through a rough patch in my relationship. After being lost in my thoughts for so long, they gave me a unique insight into where my life was going, including who I was meant to be with.
I was actually blown away by how kind, compassionate and knowledgeable they were.

In a love reading, a gifted advisor can tell you what the future holds with this guy, and most importantly empower you to make the right decisions when it comes to love.
4) You hear about him through mutual friends
If your ex is thinking about you, then he’s not going to be able to get you out of his mind. Nor does he want to.
It won’t take long for you to hear from a friend of a friend that your name popped up in conversation.
Of course, you could also reach out to a mutual friend and ask them straight out. But in turn, this may get back to your ex and he’ll know you’ve been thinking about him too.
If he’s thinking about you, he’s likely to share that with others around him. He won’t be able to help it. It may be as simple as asking after you to see how you’re going.
This shows he still cares and is curious about what you’re up to now.
Word will spread through the grapevine soon enough and it’ll get back to you without you having to lift a finger. You’ll be left wondering, what exactly does this mean?
It means you’re still very much on his mind.
5) He’s all over your socials
This is one of the strongest signs that your ex is thinking of you after your breakup.
He heads over to your Facebook, Instagram, and other accounts because he wants to know how you’re doing. He wants to see if you’ve moved on. He wants to see if you’re hurting and missing him.
He can’t message you directly, so he heads into the social world.
He won’t necessarily be liking all your photos, as that’s far too much of a giveaway to you. But there are other ways that you can tell if he’s been active.
Instagram will show you if he’s been checking out your stories. And if he’s been on your profile a lot then he will appear near the top of your followers’ list, thanks to their algorithm.
Facebook will also show you if he’s been checking out your stories.
In some cases, his finger might even subconsciously be liking your posts as well. It’s clear, you’re definitely on his mind.
6) You keep bumping into him
The idea of the no contact period is just that — zero contact. So why do you keep bumping into him out of the blue?
Turns out, it may not be as much of a coincidence as you think.
There’s a good chance he has planned all of this ahead in an effort to see you. Whether he’s watching your socials or checking in with your friends.
Your ex can’t stop thinking about you and is going to extra lengths to ensure you can’t stop thinking about him either.
7) He hasn’t moved on
If your ex was well and truly over you then he would be putting himself out there and moving on with his dating life. But, if he can’t stop thinking about you then this simply isn’t possible.
Sure, he might hang out with other girls and try and pretend his feelings are gone but he won’t be able to commit to another relationship.
It’s usually just an act. He doesn’t want you to know how he feels.
Let’s face it. Men can be complicated. They tend to be less in tune with their emotions than women are, which causes them to act how they want others to see them.
Your ex could even have a new girlfriend and be thinking of you. Meeting this new girl could be the trigger that reminds him how much he loved you.
If this is the case, he’ll be knocking on your door soon and begging to get you back.
8) He reaches out to you
Going through a no-contact period after a breakup is exactly that — it’s a period of no contact.
If your ex reaches out to you during this time, you can take it as a sure sign that he’s thinking about you. So much so he wants to talk to you about it.
What next? Do you answer his texts or calls? Or do you leave things be?
It’s entirely up to you. You have three options to consider:
- If you still have feelings for him and want to see where they take you, then it might be worth meeting up with him again.
- Perhaps you just need to talk some things out to resolve any of the issues you had looming over you. It can help to get it all out on the table so you both can move on.
- If you have no interest and have already moved on, then the answer is easy. Don’t answer those calls.
If you do want to entertain the idea of getting back together with your ex then it’s important you think carefully about whether you guys stand a second chance.
But if you feel in your heart that you broke up for silly reasons and you still see a future with this guy, there is something you can do to get him back.
All it takes is a text message – but not just any text – a text that makes him fear losing you for good.
I learned about this particular text from Brad Browning, who has helped thousands of women get their ex back. He goes by the moniker of “the relationship geek”, for good reason.
In this free video, he’ll show you exactly what you can do to make your ex boyfriend want you again.
No matter what your situation is — or how badly you’ve messed up since the two of you broke up — he’ll give you a number of useful tips that you can apply immediately.

15 signs your crush is thinking about you — and exactly what that means
He likes me…
He likes me not…
He’s flirting with me…
He’s just been nice…
Why are some guys just so difficult to read.
Instead of listening to what your friends have to say, it’s time to look at the signs that are right in front of you and telling you everything you need to know.
If you’re close to a guy and want to know whether or not he’s thinking about you, then these signs will help you figure that out.
14 signs he’s thinking about you:
1) He tells you something reminded him of you
If a guy tells you that something reminded him of you the other day, then you can safely assume that you’re on his mind.
Whether he was eating your favourite food at the time or in a spot the two of you met up for a coffee, there’s no doubt that this guy was paying attention.
He might even send you a funny meme or photo of something he saw that he thought you would enjoy. You are definitely on this guy’s mind. He’s seeing you everywhere when he’s out and about!
Whether he’s hoping to have a laugh with you or simply wants to brighten your day, this is a guy who is thoughtful and thinking of you.
2) He’s your number one fan
On social media that is.
Do you find that he likes all your posts?
Does he always respond when you send him a Snapchat?
Is he always commenting on your Facebook or Instagram stories?
It’s clear that you’re on this guy’s mind. He likely makes the effort to head over to your socials every day to see what you’re up to.
Let’s face it, he could simply check out your posts without interacting (like the example of the ex-boyfriend above).
If he’s choosing to hit like or leave a comment it’s because he wants you to see. He’s not afraid of showing off his feelings.
3) He finds ways to help you
Does he offer to help out at every opportunity?
Does he find ways to be useful in your life, even without you asking?
If so, it’s a clear sign he’s thinking of you – and on a deep level at that.
I learned about this from the hero instinct. Coined by relationship expert James Bauer, this revolutionary concept is about three main drivers all men have, deeply ingrained in their DNA.
And feeling needed and useful is one of these innate drivers.
This is something most women don’t know about.
But once triggered, these drivers make men into the heroes of their own lives. They feel better, love harder, and commit stronger.
Now, you may be wondering why it’s called “the hero instinct”? Do guys really need to feel like superheroes to feel chemistry with a woman?
And the best way to do this is by checking out James Bauer’s excellent free video here. He shares some easy tips to get you started, such as sending him a 12 word text that will trigger his hero instinct right away.
You see, that’s the beauty of the hero instinct.
It’s only a matter of knowing the right things to say to make him feel like he’s making a difference in your life. And once these natural drivers are triggered, he’ll go above and beyond for you.
All of that and more is included in this informative free video, so make sure to check it out if you want to take things to the next level with this guy.

4) He’s overly affectionate
Does this guy always go in for the hug when he sees you?
Sure, some guys are just huggers, while others simply aren’t. But more often than not, guys tend to be more reserved when it comes to physical touch.
So, how do you know for sure? Pay attention to how he greets everyone.
Are they all getting the lean in hug or is it specifically reserved for you?
You’ll have your answer soon enough.
5) He remembers specific things you say
What woman wouldn’t love a guy who not only listened to her but remembered exactly what she said?
If you want to know whether or not your guy is thinking about you, then it’s all in the small details.
Does he remember the name of your dog from childhood?
Does he make the effort to remember your coffee order and your favourite flowers?
Perhaps he makes note of your favourite colour.
They are just small details but they have big meaning behind them.
He remembers this information because it’s important to him. He knows he’s going to use it again at some point. Our brains are wired to work this way.
He’s thinking about you. If it’s important to you, then he considers it important to him as well.
6) Your happiness comes first
Does your guy go out of his way to make you happy?
Once again, it’s in the small details.
If he goes to that extra effort just to put a smile on your face, then it’s a great sign that he’s thinking about you a lot.
He knows what you like and what will make you laugh. And he goes above and beyond to get that smile on your face.
Does he always call ahead and bring a coffee when you catch up?
Does he frequently send you funny memes that he knows you’ll like?
Does he always let you pick your seat first when you go out?
It’s the little things that show he’s constantly thinking about you and wants to ensure you’re happy.
7) He asks plenty of questions
If there’s someone on our mind who we can’t stop thinking about, then it’s natural to want to know everything about them.
Their favourite foods. What they love to do in their spare time. Their family life. Their job.
If you are finding that your guy is extra chatty and loves asking plenty of questions, then it’s a sure sign that he’s thinking about you.
He wants to delve deeper and discover even more about you and who you are.
Just like he follows you on socials to keep up to date with your life, he’s just as likely to try and find out as much about you when you meet up in person.
8) He also shares plenty
When a guy is thinking of you, he doesn’t just sit back and ask the questions. He also shares plenty about himself as well.
When we can’t stop thinking about someone, we want them to know every little detail about us.
Where we got that scar. Where we grew up. What our childhood was like. Who our friends were.
He wants you to see the real him and to know exactly who he is, in the hope that you might feel the same about him as well.
Have you ever heard of the shadow self? This is a part of us that’s buried very deep within that we don’t want to share with anyone. In fact, we prefer to pretend it doesn’t exist.
If he’s diving deep and sharing these parts of himself with you, it’s clear that he’s thinking of you non-stop.
9) He asks your opinion
Let’s face it, a guy isn’t going to ask for your opinion on anything unless they respect you and genuinely want to know what you think.
If he’s asking an opinion on what he should have for lunch, then don’t read too much into this one. He’s simply having a tough time making a decision, so is bringing you into it.
If he’s asking your opinion on a new job offer or moving house, then it’s time to pay a little more attention. These are big life decisions he’s asking for your opinion on, which is a big deal.
He’s factoring you into these big moments because he’s thinking about you. This guy wants you in his life.
10) He shares your interests
While his interests might not necessarily be your interests, he’s willing to step out of his comfort zone and take part in your interests.
Whether you’re a bushwalker, runner, cook, enjoy reading, the movies, or golf, he’s willing to come and try out an activity with you because he’s thinking about you.
Part of the reason he’s doing this is to understand more about you and who you are as a person. By sharing interests together, you can really get to know a person and what they enjoy.
He’s definitely putting the effort in here.
11) He’s always messaging you
Whether it’s to say good morning or to share something that happened in his day, if your phone seems to be buzzing non-stop, it’s because your guy is thinking about you.
Every little thing that happens in the day, reminds him of you. And you’re the one person he wants to share it with.
He will also message you first thing in the morning. Why?
Because when he wakes, you’re the first thing on his mind before anything else.
It’s very clear that you’re on his mind a lot, which is why he keeps reaching for the phone to send you message after message.
12) He notices new things
Why is it that guys never seem to notice that new haircut, your new dress, or that new pair of heels you’re rocking? Most just seem blind to it all.
Well, not your guy.
He notices it all and makes an effort to let you know by complimenting you on it. If he’s noticing these little things, then he definitely has you at the front of his mind.
Guys are going to put in the effort to notice the little things for someone they don’t care about. They just won’t pay attention!
13) He makes excuses to see you
These excuses might be subtle.
You may not even recognize them for what they are when they first happen. But there’s only so many times he can leave a jumper at your house, or need some help buying a gift for his mum.
If lots of these situations keep coming up that requires the two of you spending time together, then it’s safe to say it’s not a coincidence.
He’s trying to find reasons to spend more time with you because he can’t stop thinking about you.
He wants to see you as much as possible and finding excuses is the easiest and most subtle (or so he thinks) way to do this.
14) He tells you!
Some guys are happy to be open about their feelings.
If he opens up and tells you that he’s been thinking about you a lot lately, then take his word for it. This isn’t something he’s going to tell a little white lie about.
Many men don’t find expressing emotions easy which is why it helps to listen and acknowledge what he’s sharing with you.
If you’re not sure how you feel yet, then tell him. An honest admission deserves an honest answer.
15) You sense it
Relationships rely a lot on intuition.
Sometimes you don’t need to be told what’s going on, you can just feel it.
Whether you’ve recognized a number of these signs above or you simply just know it’s the truth, it’s important to trust in your gut.
If you have this feeling that he’s thinking about you a lot and possibly interested in taking things further, then you’re probably right.
While many guys don’t like to open up and tell us what they’re thinking, more often than not the signs can be overwhelming, as long as we know what we’re looking for.
The next thing to do is work out if it’s something you want.
He’s thinking about me, what next?
Now that it’s clear your guy has only you on his mind, where to next?
The most important thing to do is work out your own feelings.
Ask yourself: am I interested in him? Do I see myself dating him?
If you answered no to both these questions, then it might be time to pull back a little and be very clear in your signs.
You don’t want to lead a guy on when you know you’re not interested. It’s not fair on him but it also holds you back from getting out there and finding Mr. Right.
If you answered yes to the questions above, then it’s time to work out whether or not you want to speed things up.
You might simply be happy knowing he is thinking about you. Relationships are allowed to move slowly. You can sit back and see where this one takes you.
On the other hand, now you know he likes you, you might be ready to ask him out. If you don’t want to sit around waiting for him, you have two options:
- Drop subtle hints: your guy might be waiting around just to check you feel the same way about him. Give him a little help by dropping subtle hints when you can. Let him know you’re interested and feel the same way.
- Ask him: instead of waiting for the guy to ask you out, you can go ahead and ask him out! You know he’s interested, so you don’t have too much to lose. At the end of the day, if he says no – at least you tried. You might be able to dive deeper and figure out what’s holding him back and see if it’s something you can overcome together.
Knowing a guy is thinking about you is a great feeling — whether it’s your ex or a prospective partner. It makes you feel special and loved, which is important.
Once you know that he’s thinking about you, what you choose to do next is entirely up to you!
But if you do want to send a clear message that you’re into him too, make sure to check out the hero instinct.
I mentioned this revolutionary concept earlier – how men all have this biological need to be essential and needed in a relationship. The best part, most of them don’t even realize they have this need.
But if you can trigger it in your man, he won’t be able to stay away. You won’t need to spend time wondering whether you like each other or not – the hero instinct will make it very evident!
