Men like to be chased? That might not be your first thought when it comes to dating.

But with all the movies, music, and TV shows that make it seem like men are always trying to get girls, is it possible that they do want to be chased?

Times are changing and we’re living in a whole new world in which the rules of engagement are shifting.

So, do guys like a good chase?

Well, there are actually 10 reasons why this is true. And don’t worry – we’ll explain all of them right here!

1) They don’t have to do all the work

Men have a hard time admitting that they’re attracted to a woman, but they can be quite open about their desire to be pursued by someone they’re interested in.

While you don’t have to go out of your way to chase him, you can at least be the girl he’s been waiting for all his life.

He’ll appreciate the effort and know that you are the one for him.

Men want women who aren’t afraid of rejection and will fight tooth-and-nail just as much as men do when it comes down to trying to get what they want (whether or not this is true).

It may seem like an uphill battle sometimes, but never give up! Even if he doesn’t make any moves on his own; show some interest yourself.

2) They want to feel wanted.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to feel wanted, especially when it comes to dating someone new or even an old friend!

Many men like the feeling of being pursued because it makes them feel as though you’re interested in them and want to be with them.

Men often have a hard time letting go of this idea that women are supposed to chase after him, so if he feels like she is trying too hard then there will most likely be some pushback from him.

If your guy has expressed interest in you but doesn’t seem receptive for the first few dates (or any date), don’t worry about what might happen later on down the line; just focus on enjoying yourself now and wait until things develop naturally.

3) They want to know they’re special.

When you pursue a guy, he knows he’s important to you and that you like him for who he is.

Don’t get too caught up in the chase, though!

Although it’s nice to feel wanted, don’t let the chase become part of your relationship.

If you’re into him and know he’s into you, then don’t be tempted to play games or have your feelings manipulated in order for him to feel special.

So, just as us women like to be made to feel like we’re the best thing since sliced cheese. The same goes for me.

They’re just more reserved about.

4) They want to feel needed.

Men need to feel as though they’re needed in order to feel complete as human beings.

When you chase after a guy, you can show him just how much he means to you by doing the things you know will make him happy and fulfilled.

This is what men love in a woman

Showing your appreciation for his time and effort is one way to do this.

In addition, it’s important that men are able to tell when their significant other feels appreciated in return so that they don’t get frustrated with them or think they’re not being loved enough if there isn’t any physical affection involved on occasion.

5) They want to feel like a king.

Men are often very competitive and like to be the center of attention in a woman’s life.

If you’re the one chasing them, they’ll know that you’re interested in them and that you are willing to spend time with them – even if it’s just for a few minutes here and there.

Men also want someone who is more than likely going to put him first when it comes down between themselves or another person because men have been taught from an early age how important self-respect is for their own well-being as well as those around them.

This can be due mostly to what has happened throughout their lives but also to what society teaches men about women through movies, television shows, etc.

6) The rules have changed.

There are some guys who will never pursue a woman.

They may have been burned by the pursuit of a past partner or they may just be too shy to ask someone out.

Regardless, they’ve made up their mind that they don’t want to be pursued by anyone and that’s it.

It’s not a bad thing if you know in advance (or even if you don’t know) that there are men out there who aren’t going to pursue you; it’s just something to keep in mind when considering whether or not he’s the right guy for you.

7) It boosts their ego

Men are often very competitive and like to be the center of attention in a woman’s life. But in the same breath, they also like to feel like they’re desired, sexy and wanted

8) They’re tired of doing the chasing!

They’re tired of doing the chasing! You’re probably thinking, “Why would I want to do that?!”

Well, here’s why: When you chase a guy, he knows he’s special and that you like him for who he is.

If you’re into him and know he’s into you, then don’t need to play games or have your feelings manipulated in order for him to feel special.

A lot of people tend to think that introverts are boring because they don’t like being around large groups of people in general.

However, this is not true at all! Introverts just need their alone time from time to time so it’s best for everyone involved when someone takes a step back and gives them space instead

9) It shows that you’re making an effort to be with him

If you’re the one chasing a guy, he’ll know that you’re interested in him.

It doesn’t matter if he’s not into you, but if you’re making an effort to get to know him and put yourself out there, he’ll eventually realize that he’s going to have to work for it.

He might not want to at first but once he realizes that his efforts are going to be worth it, it will make the decision of “do I want her or not” much easier.

10) It shows that you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty

You’ll need a lot of grit when it comes to dating someone.

Maybe you’re not used to being the one pursuing someone, but if you keep at it and show that you’re worth his time, he’ll eventually realize that he’s going to have to work for what he wants.

He’s not going to take things for granted and will be able to appreciate the fact that you’ve worked hard for him.

It shows that you’re making an effort to be with him. It shows that you’re not afraid to get your hands dirty.

Some men are shy and maybe think that you’re out of their league and therefore, won’t even attempt to go after you. When you’re the one doing the groundwork and doing the chasing, it’s sure to pique his interest!

So do guys really enjoy being chased?

This might sound a little strange, but it’s true. In fact, there are actually a whole lot of men who enjoy the chase.

It doesn’t matter if they’re married or single; some men want to be chased. And that’s not just because they want a woman to chase after them – it’s actually because of what they get out of the chase!

Think about it…

Men like to be chased because they feel “the need” for a woman to pursue them.

This is probably the most obvious reason why men like being chased. As you know, we’re all creatures of habit, and we tend to repeat our behavior over and over again – whether that’s eating unhealthy foods or watching television.

And while it may seem like this habit is “unhealthy,” there are actually some benefits that come with it. For example, when a man eats a lot of unhealthy foods, he’s actually getting the same kind of “feel good” chemicals in his body that are released when women receive sexual pleasure from chasing men.

So you see…

Men like to be chased because they’re looking for women to pursue them. It makes them feel powerful and mighty.

The dos and don’ts of chasing after a man

Don’t rush into anything.

You’re going to want to take things slow and make sure that you’re giving him all the time he needs.

The last thing you want is to get into something that isn’t going to work out in the long run.

If he’s not interested in getting to know you better, then it’s best if you try to keep your distance.

He might not want a relationship so if he doesn’t reciprocate your feelings, it’s best for you to move on and find someone who does.

Do take your time

It’s important for men and women alike that they don’t rush into things too quickly because of the fact that they’re not exactly sure if they’re into each other or not.

You don’t want to end up dating someone who doesn’t reciprocate your feelings, so it’s best for you to take things slow and get to know him.

Don’t get too comfortable

If you’re getting to know someone, it’s important that you keep a level of distance between the two of you because you don’t want to get too comfortable with someone and then have them end up not being into you.

You’re going to want to keep things interesting, so if he’s getting too comfortable with you, chances are that he’s not really interested in a relationship with you.

Do you!

If he’s dating someone who’s completely the opposite of you, don’t try to fit that mold.

You’re unique and you’re awesome the way you are so if you think you might not be compatible, rather give him a miss.

You will find the right match one day. You shouldn’t have to force it or fake anything to make someone like you.

Don’t pry into his personal life.

Yup, this is for all the side chicks and mistresses out there.

If a man is already dating someone, it’s best that you don’t pry into their personal life because you don’t want to be the third wheel in their relationship.

It might be best for you to just keep your personal life out of the relationship and focus on you, instead of trying to figure out what they’re doing behind closed doors.

Don’t come off as being desperate. It’s best that you don’t come off as being desperate when it comes to pursuing someone and you’re trying to get their attention.

You need to be subtle and firm but don’t throw yourself at him. You need to be subtle in order to get his attention, but you don’t need to throw yourself at him.

With all of that said, if you’re trying to get a guy’s attention, it’s best that you just be yourself. If he likes you for who you are, he’ll like that person even if he doesn’t have time for someone else.

When to stop chasing after a man

The two of you are going out on dates and you’re getting along great. You’ve learned a lot about each other and it seems like he’s really into you.

He’s been telling you how much he likes you, but now it’s time for things to pick up a bit more.

You want him to know that this is more than just a casual relationship.

You want him to know that there is something here between the two of you and that there are very real possibilities for the future.

You don’t want him to think that you’re just going out with him for the sake of having a boyfriend.

You need to make it clear that you’re interested and you want to see where things go from here.

You need to let him know that you’re not desperate but that there is something here. He needs to know that he’s not just another notch on your bedpost, but that he’s someone who can take you places and do things with you.

This is not the time for games or playing hard to get.

This is the time for honesty and sharing your feelings with your partner. You need to let him know what you’re thinking and how he makes you feel when he’s around.

If he’s not interested in you, after all is said and done, move on. There are plenty more fish in the sea so don’t cry over spilled milk. NEXT.

He doesn’t like me back, what now?

This is a tricky situation.

You may have done all you could do: you’ve been nice, you’ve said all the right things, but he still doesn’t seem to be interested.

You need to learn how to deal with this one. If he hasn’t liked you for weeks at a time and then suddenly starts liking you again – that’s not a good sign.

He may have just been playing hard to get, which is fine with some girls (and guys), but it’s not so great if you’re looking for “the one”.

Either way, he’s likely to turn his interest on again as soon as you stop being nice to him.
